Red for Ed

Red for EDucation and RALLY for Education Update

The SCETF Executive held an emergency executive meeting last night and two motions were approved.

The SCETF Executive has approved a motion that SCETF Members will recognize Red for EDucation Day on Thursdays as Friday has been a day to wear red in honour of the military.  SCETF Members are encouraged to wear red on Fridays in honour of the military. (Please note:  Holding Red for EDucation on Thursdays is a Simcoe County Elementary Teachers’ Federation decision and not an ETFO decision.)

The second motion was approved to access ETFO funding to purchase Red for EDucation t-shirts for SCETF Members.  SCETF is working with SCEOT and SCDECE to order t-shirts for each local.  More details on these t-shirts will be available in the next couple of days. The plan is to have the steward or cbc rep place one t-shirt order for all ETFO Members at their school and forward to the SCETF Office.

RALLY for Education on Saturday, April 6th at noon at Queen’s Park: Simcoe ETFO (SCETF, SCEOT and SCDECE) are working with our other education partners – OSSTF, OECTA and OPSEU on providing transportation to Toronto. Preliminary plans are to have bus pick-up locations in Barrie, Collingwood, Hwy 88/400, Midland and Orillia.  Click this link for bus pick-up location.
