ETFO Provincial Awards

Every day, ETFO members make outstanding contributions to curriculum development, the arts, the environment, science and technology, children’s literature, health and safety, 2SLGBTQ+ realities and humanitarian causes.

With so much to celebrate, the ETFO awards program recognizes distinguished academic achievements, and outstanding contributions to education and the federation by its members and others. Over one hundred thousand dollars is distributed annually to member and community groups through the Awards Program. Members can help identify and recognize those achievements by nominating colleagues for the prestigious Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario awards. Or consider nominating yourself. Click here -> The deadline for awards nominations is February 1st of each year and award categories are posted by October of each year.

ETFO offers financial support to members and others for: doctoral and master’s scholarships and bursaries for men and women; bursaries for members of designated groups and Aboriginal education; and bursaries for sons and daughters of ETFO members. Click here -> The deadline for scholarship and bursary applications is April 30th of each year and are posted by January of each year.

OTIP Teaching Awards

Nominations open Jan. 3rd, 2022

The deadline for nominations is March 21, 2022.

There are three categories of awards: elementary school teacher, secondary school teacher and beginning teacher in the first five years of teaching. A teacher may be nominated by anyone – professional colleagues, students, parents, or the general public.

The Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) and the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) are proud sponsors of the OTIP Teaching Awards. For many years, these awards have recognized the excellence of our teachers in publicly funded education.
