Stephanie Bass is currently an Elementary Core French Teacher in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. This is only the latest in a long string of professional accomplishments. She has worked as a social worker, bookseller, editor, manager and educational technology consultant for both private and public schools in Toronto. Personally, she has always had a keen interest in art and music. In her early 20’s, she was a professional singer and actor, appearing on albums for Hamilton artists, as well as a touring backup singer for Shania Twain in 1998. She is a musician, painter, crafter and blogger. These artistic interests drew her to Haiti as a subject for her first book for Tralco-Lingo Publishing, where the history, art and culture of Haitian people have depended on perseverance and the “do it yourself” ingenuity for centuries. For more information about Stephanie, or some activity ideas for FSL classes, see her blog at www.bonneideeblog.ca
